Hello members,

Nvidia deliberately slow down old graphics card by new drivers" How much is that true?

Older GPUS that have thermal paste in need of replacing, Dust built up inside the cooling shroud, capacitors and VRMs ready to go bad at any moment… of course you arent going to be running those at their normal full power. By the time the generation after the next of GPU from that line up has come out all the performance potential has likely already been pulled out of the graphics card in drivers updates already and its as fast as it can be. but as it gets older and still has support Nvidia dev’s know that the card is going to be a hurtin.

Nvidia driver updates can include changes designed to avoid Bug’s or critical failures in aging parts. especially if the problem is related to actual hardware instead of firmware or software. it’s the same with Apples phones.

A large part of this however…. is the misunderstanding that games used to run better on those older graphics cards… games change too… updates and windows related drivers changed… they just don't run the same because they aren't.
