2400mhz and 3000mhz ram working together ? - Tushar Rajput - 04-01-2019

Hello members,

Hi guys ! In my current build I have only one stick of 8gb ram at 2400mhz speed but i was thinking about getting Corsair 1X 8GB DDR4 3000mhz C16 LP. Would those 2 speeds collide or they would work good ?

Mixing & matching modules that are not physically sold together in a "kit" have the potential to be incompatible.

Timings, the actual chips used etc can vary (some of the same brand/model use Hynix OR Samsung chips, for example).

In order of preference:

1. Sell the module you have and buy a 2x8GB retail "kit"

2. Buy the exact same module you already have (brand, produce line, speed)

3. Buy the same speed/timings from another vendor.

4. Something totally mismatched.

So, if you're not prepared to sell the module you have and buy a kit, buy the exact same module 1x8GB you bought before
